We are proud to be part of the Chautauqua Lake Dragon Boat Committee, made up of local organizations to help support the efforts to grow Dragon Boat Racing in our community, which in turn raises awareness and funds for the Chautauqua Lake Association (CLA) who maintain the health of our lake. We run our Annual Rubber Ducky Race during the festival, which raises proceeds for the Chautauqua Lake Association, Laker’s Disabled Sled and Special Hockey, Blue Star Mother’s Christmas Care Package Collection for our service men and women overseas, and GCFCU’s Scholarship Program and their Warmth and Toys for Kids Collection.
Throughout the year, we donate, raise funds, and volunteer to support LINKS Charity Pink Walk for breast cancer, Blue Star Mothers, Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village, Love INC, Toys for Tots, the Jamestown/Lakewood YMCA Battle of the Businesses, Walk 4 Paws, Chautauqua County Humane Society, Lakeshore Humane Society, the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, and much more. We sponsor local fund raisers such as food drives, golf tournaments, benefits, local sports teams, etc. We are proud to say that we made and donated over 40 prize auction baskets to local fundraisers this year!
GCFCU strives to engage our youth members and get them involved in helping our community by donating books and non-perishable foods that we distribute between the Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown, Partners in Kind, Boys and Girls Club of America, Family Church of Mayville, and the Mayville Library.
